Half Facts Are Not Equal to Half Decisions

Let me give you a story for you to understand what I mean:

In the hotel business, our major sources of revenue are:- Food, Accomodations and Conferences

And many times, there is a lot of balancing that needs to be done as you approve a quote.

For example; If a group is taking all the three services, I might not charge the room for the meeting, but supposing after that, they decide they won’t take accommodation?
What happens?

Well, the change is not about removing the accommodations cost and taking the rest,
It’s simply that the quote needs to be reworked, so that you factor in the loss of economies of scale due to the reduced business they are now giving.

Makes sense I thought but many people, both the client and business people, fail to see it that way.

When facts change, just ever remember that what influenced the decision in the first place has shifted and so your decision also needs to be reassessed again and truth be told, you can still go with the half price, or give a different price all together.
However, it will be a considered decision and that’s what is important.

Considered decisions all the way, all the time.
When facts change, the decision cannot remain the same.

This is especially important if the decision was arrived at in consultation with your boss.

Okay my people?

How about you share this so that many more can get enlightened?

Madam CEO.
