Governor Natembeya challenges Trans Nzoia leaders to unite and work together
Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya who was represented by the Director of Communications Felix Sialo said there was need for residents of the cosmopolitan county to have an all-inclusive world view to harness real development in the area.
While enumerating several projects innated by the governor, Dr Sialo said governor Natembeya had put more focus on projects that are directly beneficial to the people at the grassroots.
Speaking during a fund drive for the completion of the church building at St Paul’s ACK Botwa the Director said time for partisan considerations were long overdue adding that Governor Natembeya administration is out to uplift living standards of the people.
The governor, he noted had put in place the Elimu bursary scheme to cushion bright and needy learners from humble backgrounds achieve their academic potential.
” Learners who did their KCPE and attained 250 marks and above are direct beneficiaries to the Elimu bursary scheme”, he noted.
His sentiments were echoed by the Governor’s Personal Assistant Emmanuel Wamalwa who underscored the governor’s commitment to have bright and needy learners go through their academic career for all four years of secondary education.
” Those who scored 250 marks will have their secondary school fees paid for by the governor through the Elimu bursary scheme. However, we shouldn’t abdicate our parental responsibilities “, he said.
The personal assistant revealed that the much-awaited Sh. 120 million Nawiri funds will be released to those who had applied.
He said delays to release the funds were necessitated by lack of a legal framework which he revealed was now operational.
The personal assistant asked the church to continue seeking for divine intervention in order for the county to achieve development.
