MESPT Changing Lives
Micro Enterprise Support Programme Trust abbreviated as MESPT has been very committed in terms of bringing positive economic transformation.
Here is a testimonial of one of the beneficiaries:
“”I ventured into sugar snap farming in July 2022. But before we partnered with Keitt through MESPT, we used to sell our produce to middlemen who used to steal from us, thus incurring massive losses. MESPT has trained us, among other things, in food safety, and we continue to benefit a lot from their support. We are now earning good returns! Keitt Exporters Limited buys a kilogram of her sugar snaps for KSh 100 -200, while middlemen would buy the same for about KSh 30 -60”, Wairimu explained.
Hellen Wairimu is a member of Aberdare Uphill Self-Help Group that consists of 41members. The main objective of the self-help group is to increase production and sales turnover which in turn adds income to the pocket of the farmers, creating decent employment for youth and women as envisaged in the Green Employment in Agriculture Programme funded by DANIDA.
