Morning Thought From Madam CEO
Madam CEO Dr Esther Muchemi is very good. Kind to the core.
Which is why no day passes without madam CEO sharing with us nuggets of wisdom.
“RESPECT
I have often caught myself saying:-
“It’s not about whether you respect me or fear me, it’s about just doing what is right and getting the job done!”
Well, getting bogged up with academic theories at times tires me. There are times I just want to get to the bottom of the matter and get results, period!
Having said that, I have also learnt to give respect where respect and honour is due.
Yes, respect and honour to those in authority either directly or indirectly, may it be political, spiritual, or social authority.
But this caught my attention this week…..
Giving respect to fellow business people.
There are things that you just don’t do.
For example;
1. I don’t think it’s right for you to pay your competition’s staff so that they can you give you your competitor’s business secrets.
2. Never sit back and celebrate the tribulations of your competition. You honestly may just be a few days from your own!
Let me now get into a controversial one,
3. if you pull out of a company you work for eg. one that is selling land, is it right to pull out other staff or the customers and work with them and by so doing, cripple the operations of the former company?
My answer is a resounding NO!
There is a limit of what you can get away with, when dealing with competition.
Never allow your desire to succeed get to a level that it doesn’t matter what you do as long as you get “there”.
It matters!
After all, the there of today ,is not the there of tomorrow nor of yesterday.
Doing good can never replace being good.
Do good and be good must be a guiding philosophy.
And that’s the one reason that makes me strongly believe in “value based wealth creation”.
Yes we create and we desire to create wealth and prosperity, but how you do it is even more important! Don’t step on everyone as you get there.
It’s God who opens doors and He alone shuts them. We just happen to be custodians of the universe.
Over to your my people.
Madam CEO.”
