Graduates Want the Government to Create Job Opportunities For them
University graduates are calling on the government to create job opportunities for thousands of graduates across the graduate.
They say it’s sad that the government is only focusing on creating job opportunities for students pursuing their courses at TVET institutions.
“The current focus on securing local placements for technically skilled students, while laudable, leaves a sizable cohort of qualified individuals stranded is uncalled for. The government should also look at mechanisms to create employment for graduates from universities,” said a distinguished graduate with First Class honors from Kibabii University.
Kelvin Rotich from Moi University “The government should get serious and also consider those graduating from Universities. As they are doing for those in TVET institutions the government should look for employment opportunities for us,”
Lelisa Jepkoech wondered why someone should go through university Education yet he or she will not be employed.

“it is demoralizing to other students at High school who ask themselves when I go to university will I stay like so and so who’s still depending on their parents yet they graduated?”
“The current system, while catering to a specific sector, overlooks the diverse skillsets possessed by other graduates. This narrow focus not only limits individual potential but also creates a ticking social time bomb,” added Jackson Tanui SDA Moibaracks.
Christopher Kipserem Principal Chemnada High School in Elgeiyo Marakwet called upon both county and national governments to actively facilitate overseas employment opportunities.
“ Collaboration with public institutions could pave the way for roles in diverse fields, from healthcare and education to finance and business, “ he said.
