Six-time Kenyan Rally champion Ian Duncan is among the big names to watch out at the inaugural Eldoret Safari Rally Championships.

Duncan, navigated by Jaspal Matharu and driving his Nissan Patrol P/u will be out to regain his glory that he last won in 2011, battling it out with nine other contestants, in the 298-kilometre challenge.

The high adrenaline vrooming action is one of the circuits of the Kenya National Rally Championship.

The drifting action brings back nostalgic memories of the 90s and will be live in Uasin Gishu and parts of Elgeyo Marakwet county this weekend.

Speaking as he flagged off the rally cars on Saturday, Governor Dr Jonathan Bii, EGH, said his government, inspired by the City of Champions, is keen to make Eldoret a multi-sports powerhouse.

Dr Bii also said the coming of the competitive driving showpiece and having attracted drivers from across the world, promotes cultural diversity and sports culture.
