Trans Nzoia administration is training community health promoters (CHPs) to strengthen palliative care services amid a rise in life-threatening illnesses.

The program, a collaboration between the county government’s First Lady’s office and Hospice Care Kenya (HCK), targets 100 CHPs across the county’s 25 wards.

“We are witnessing an increase in patients with cancer, diabetes, and other chronic diseases,” said Lilian Natembeya, the Trans Nzoia County First Lady. “This initiative will equip CHPs to identify these patients and connect them with the care they need.”
