Kenyan and Somali MPs Hold Cordial Meeting to Strengthen Border Relations

Members of Parliament from Mandera, Wajir, and Garissa Counties in Kenya recently convened a significant meeting at the Radison Blue Hotel in Nairobi, hosting the Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre, along with his delegation comprising 10 Ministers and several MPs from Somalia.

The atmosphere of the meeting was marked by cordiality as both the hosts and visitors engaged in deliberations covering a wide spectrum of bilateral and regional issues pertinent to Kenya and Somalia. Emphasis was placed on bolstering the existing ties between the two nations, particularly concerning matters affecting the three border counties of Mandera, Wajir, and Garissa.

During the discussions, Kenyan and Somali MPs, alongside the Somali Prime Minister, collectively underscored the significance of fostering cordial border relations. They highlighted the strong bonds of heritage and shared destiny that bind the Somali people across the region.
