Massive Turnout at Free Medical Camp in Ngeria Ward Provides Vital Healthcare Services to Over 3,000 People
AIC Kaptuiyot Church in Ngeria Ward witnessed an overwhelming turnout as more than 3,000 residents gathered for a two-day free medical camp, where they received crucial healthcare services ranging from diabetes screening to specialized eye and ear examinations.
Dr. Joyce Sang, the Clinical Services Chief Officer, emphasized the significance of the medical camp in addressing prevalent eye and ear issues among attendees. Many individuals benefited from the eye check-ups, receiving spectacles on-site while others requiring further treatment were referred to Huruma Sub County Hospital for specialized care.
Highlighting a promising collaboration, Dr. Sang announced a partnership with Lenexa Baptist Church from the USA. The aim is to establish annual medical camps, ensuring sustained access to essential healthcare tailored to the specific needs of the residents.
“Our focus remains on comprehensive healthcare outreach, addressing conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and providing psychological counseling, particularly benefiting older individuals grappling with chronic conditions like gout and arthritis,” stated Dr. Sang.
Dr. Joshua Mutai from Lenexa Baptist Church reaffirmed their commitment to organizing medical camps within the county as a community service initiative, with a particular emphasis on addressing prevalent eye and ear problems.
Jane Ngelechei, a resident of Ngeria Ward, expressed profound gratitude to Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii for his administration’s support and partnership in the medical camp initiative. She attested to the positive impact of the event on attendees’ lives.
“After receiving treatment for hypertension and receiving eyeglasses, I can testify to the thorough care we received. I now believe I will regain good vision, thanks to Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii’s commitment to prioritizing healthcare,” said Jane.
