In a significant gathering at the Peace Forum held in Elderet Town, Uasin Gishu County, Senator Kiplagat Jackson Mandago commended the local committee for organizing the event, emphasizing its crucial role in fostering communal harmony. The forum, convened on Monday, aimed to consolidate strategies for sustaining peace within the county.

Senator Mandago addressed pressing concerns arising from recent demonstrations against the 2024/2025 finance bill, urging the investigative sector to leverage technology in identifying individuals responsible for violence and property destruction during the protests. He extended condolences to families who lost loved ones and expressed sympathy for those injured in the disturbances.

“The protest was peaceful,” Mandago affirmed, highlighting instances where youths cooperated with law enforcement to apprehend troublemakers. “I can state without contradiction that the demonstration was orderly.”

Acknowledging President’s responsiveness to Generation Z’s objections to the finance bill, Mandago disclosed plans for inclusive dialogues on an undisclosed platform. He urged youth patience in awaiting governmental actions aligned with legal commitments while urging restraint against vandalism and exploitation by opportunists.

“As we exercise our constitutional rights through protests, let’s guard against disruptions and criminal activities,” Mandago cautioned. “Such actions distract from constructive dialogues and negotiation processes.”

Emphasizing civic duty, Senator Mandago encouraged active public participation, particularly through technological avenues, stressing the importance of voter turnout in shaping national decisions. “Every election, our participation counts,” he asserted, lamenting low voter engagement as detrimental to democratic processes.

In conclusion, Mandago rallied citizens to uphold patriotism by engaging in public affairs, affirming the government’s receptiveness to public sentiment. He urged Kenyans to embrace technological platforms for robust public involvement, underscoring their role in shaping governance and policy.

The Peace Forum concluded with a call for unity and civic responsibility, highlighting the imperative of maintaining tranquility amidst socio-political challenges.
