In a dramatic move, President William Ruto of Kenya has dismissed all Cabinet Secretaries and the Attorney General from their positions, effective immediately.

The announcement was made during a nationally televised address from State House Nairobi on Thursday afternoon.

In his statement, President Ruto explained that the decision was made to streamline the government’s operations and enhance its efficiency.

“After careful consideration and a thorough review of our administration’s performance, I have decided to make significant changes to our Cabinet,” Ruto declared. “This restructuring aims to renew our commitment to addressing the challenges facing our nation and to ensure that our government serves the people of Kenya with the utmost integrity and effectiveness.”

The President specified that the only offices unaffected by the purge are those of the Deputy President and the Prime Cabinet Secretary. This move marks one of the most significant reshuffles in Kenya’s recent political history and reflects a decisive shift in the country’s leadership approach.

President Ruto did not immediately name replacements for the dismissed officials, but he assured the public that new appointments would be announced in due course. He also called on the public to support the ongoing efforts to improve governance and maintain stability during this transition period.
