In a significant political development, President William Ruto has dissolved his entire cabinet following weeks of unrest among the youth. Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua publicly supported this decision during the commissioning of The Kipsoen Technical and Vocational College in Elgeyo Marakwet County.

Speaking at the event, Gachagua commended President Ruto for taking decisive action and expressed his confidence that the move would pave the way for a more effective administration. “We are fully backing your decision to dissolve the cabinet and encourage you to select ministers who will genuinely assist you in advancing the interests of the Kenyan people,” Gachagua stated.

Gachagua underscored the importance of having a team of Cabinet Secretaries (CS) who prioritize the nation’s welfare over personal gain. He urged President Ruto to consider non-politicians for the new cabinet positions, suggesting that such individuals could contribute to a more efficient and harmonious government. “As you reconstitute your government, focus on assembling a team that will create efficiency and harmony while placing the interests of Kenyans above all else,” Gachagua advised.

He expressed his belief that the Kenyan public also supports the President’s decision, viewing it as a step towards better governance. “I am confident that the people of Kenya are appreciative of this move and hopeful for a more effective administration moving forward,” Gachagua added.

The event was attended by President Ruto, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Wisely Rotich, Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Chelilim Bii, and several other dignitaries.

This unexpected cabinet overhaul marks a new phase in President Ruto’s administration as he seeks to address the grievances that led to recent youth unrest and to strengthen his government’s approach to national challenges.
