Governor Natembeya Sets the Stage for Improved Service Delivery with New Performance Contracts
In a significant step towards enhancing service delivery across the county, Governor George Natembeya has successfully concluded a series of negotiations with the County Executive Committee Members (CECMs) from all departments to establish clear and measurable objectives for the upcoming financial year.
Over the past three days, Governor Natembeya engaged with the CECMs to develop SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) goals that will serve as the cornerstone for evaluating departmental performance. These goals are designed to drive efficiency, accountability, and improved outcomes for the residents of Trans Nzoia.
“The performance contracts we are finalizing are not merely administrative documents,” Governor Natembeya stated. “They are a strategic tool aimed at ensuring that every department is aligned with our vision for a more responsive and effective governance structure. By setting clear and attainable objectives, we are paving the way for meaningful progress and better service delivery for our people.”
The upcoming signing ceremony on July 16, 2024, will mark the official adoption of these performance contracts, which will outline the specific targets each department is expected to meet by the end of the financial year. The goals have been crafted to reflect both the current needs of the community and the long-term strategic plans for the county’s development.
Governor Natembeya emphasized that these contracts are a commitment to transparency and excellence. “This process is about holding ourselves accountable and ensuring that every department contributes to our collective goals,” he said. “The performance contracts will be a critical benchmark for assessing our success and making necessary adjustments along the way.”
The new performance contracts are expected to foster a culture of high performance and continuous improvement, driving the county towards greater efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery.
