New DIGs Sworn in as Leadership Transition Takes Place in Kenya Police Service
In a significant development for the National Police Service of Kenya, Mr. Eliud Lagat and Mr. Gilbert Masengeli were officially sworn in as the Deputy Inspectors General (DIG) during a ceremony held at the Supreme Court of Kenya.
The event, which took place this afternoon, was presided over by Chief Justice and President of the Supreme Court, Hon. Martha Koome.
Mr. Eliud Lagat has been appointed as the DIG of the Kenya Police Service, while Mr. Gilbert Masengeli assumes the role of DIG for the Administration Police Service. Their appointments mark a pivotal moment in the leadership structure of the National Police Service.
Following the ceremony, Acting Inspector General Mr. Douglas Kanja Kirocho formally handed over the command of the National Police Service to Mr. Masengeli. In a noteworthy development, Mr. Masengeli will now serve as the Acting Inspector General in addition to his role as DIG Administration Police Service.
