MSEA Board of Directors Convene for Strategic Plan Review Workshop
In a significant move to drive the growth and development of Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) in the region, the Board of Directors of the Micro Small Enterprises Authority (MSEA) has commenced a three-day strategic planning workshop.
The workshop, which is being held under the leadership of the Resource Mobilization Committee and the MSEA management team led by CEO Henry Rithaa, is focused on reviewing and enhancing the MSEA’s Strategic Plan for 2023-2024.
The primary objective of the workshop is to evaluate the current five-year strategic plan and integrate innovative global strategies. Key areas of focus include leveraging information technologies, expanding market access, promoting infrastructural development, formalizing MSEs, and strengthening institutional capacity. The plan aims to utilize ICT tools for analytical research and data-driven initiatives to foster borderless markets and stimulate sector growth.
Aligned with the Bottom Up Transformation Agenda (BETA), the strategic plan is designed to bolster MSEA’s role in coordinating the MSE sector, ensuring that it remains pivotal in the national economic landscape.
The workshop was officially inaugurated by Principal Secretary Susan Auma Mangeni of the State Department of MSMEs Development. Her opening address underscored the importance of the strategic planning exercise in shaping a robust framework for supporting and scaling MSEs.
As the workshop progresses, stakeholders are expected to develop actionable strategies and initiatives that will significantly contribute to the growth and formalization of micro and small enterprises, ultimately driving economic advancement and innovation.
