Laikipia Governor Celebrates Excellence at Thiru Secondary School Prize-Giving Day
Governor Joshua Irungu lauded the achievements of Thiru Secondary School at its 2024 prize-giving day held today. The event, which took place on the school grounds, saw the Governor joining teachers, parents, guardians, and students in celebrating the school’s outstanding performance.
Thiru Secondary School was recognized for achieving the best results among day schools in the sub-county and securing the top spot as the best overall day school in Laikipia County for the 2023 KCSE results. The school had forty-one students who scored a C+ or above, meeting the minimum university admission grade—a significant achievement.
In his address, Governor Irungu praised the high achievers, teachers, parents, and the entire Thiru community for their dedication and hard work, which he noted had made all Laikipians proud. He emphasized the importance of celebrating excellence, stating that such recognition not only rewards merit but also fosters a culture of upholding higher standards in daily endeavors.
The Governor also extended his congratulations to all students from Laikipia County who are about to start their university studies, encouraging them as they embark on this crucial phase of their academic journey.
