Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro Highlights Major Development Projects in Murang’a County
In a recent meeting held earlier this week, Kiharu Member of Parliament and Budget Committee Chair, Ndindi Nyoro, hosted key leaders from Murang’a County to review and discuss several critical development projects and their funding status.
Among the prominent projects discussed were:
Gatanga Water Last Mile Connectivity**: A significant focus was the newly funded water connectivity project aimed at serving the residents of Ndakaini, enhancing water access for local communities.
Kigumo Level 3 Hospital Upgrading**: The upgrade of Kigumo Level 3 Hospital, with an allocation of Ksh 100 million, was highlighted as a completed project, set to improve healthcare services in the region.
Kandara Bulk Water Project**: This project, which will benefit Kandara, Kigumo, and Maragua Constituencies, is underway with the contractor already on site, promising improved water supply for these areas.
Mbombo – Maragua Ridge – Gwa Thamaki Road Tarmacking**: The tarmacking of this road in Maragua Constituency has been funded and is expected to improve transportation infrastructure. Additionally, the rehabilitation of roads in Kenol Town is also in progress.
Murang’a and Kangema Town Roads Tarmacking**: Funding has been secured for the tarmacking of roads in Murang’a Town, with work soon to begin on Kangema Town Roads.
Murang’a – Kiriaini Road Rehabilitation**: Efforts are ongoing to rehabilitate this crucial road, with KeNHA working on addressing sections damaged by heavy rains and contracting a contractor for repairs.
Mau Mau Lot 2 Road Resumption**: The resumption of work on the Mau Mau Lot 2 road, which serves many residents, has been greenlit with funding provided, and contractors are expected to return to the site soon.
Jnct C540 – Kangari – Gicagini – Jnct B23 Gacharage Road Rehabilitation**: This road, spanning three constituencies, is set for rehabilitation with a contractor scheduled to start work soon.
Electrification Projects**: Last mile electrification projects across all constituencies are being prioritized to improve access to electricity.
Education Infrastructure Improvements**: Significant budget allocations have been made for enhancing education infrastructure to support better learning environments.
LSupport for Dairy, Coffee, and Tea Sectors**: Financial support has been allocated for various initiatives including the Coffee Cherry Fund, Coffee debts, Milk Stabilisation, and Fertiliser to boost these crucial sectors.
The meeting was attended by prominent leaders including Hon Wamaua, Hon Wakili Muriu, Hon Peter Kihungi, Hon Dr Edwin Mugo, Hon Chege Njuguna, Hon Betty Maina, and Senator Nyutu, with Hon Munyoro also participating.
Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro emphasized the importance of these projects in fostering development and improving the quality of life in Murang’a County. “We are African, and Africa is our business,” he declared, reinforcing the commitment to advancing the region’s infrastructure and economic growth.
