Budget Champions Trained in Machakos County
In a bid to enhance public finance management at the grassroots level, KEWOPA and IPF Global conducted an impactful training session for budget champions in Machakos County today. The event focused on crucial aspects of the budget process, including budget oversight, formulation, and gender-responsive budgeting.
The session, held at a local venue, featured a keynote address from Machakos County Women Representative, Hon. Kamene. Hon. Kamene underscored the significance of understanding public debt, revenue, and budget management in promoting transparency and accountability in public finance. Her remarks highlighted the critical role of informed local leaders in driving effective governance.
Participants, selected as budget champions, will now take on the responsibility of disseminating their knowledge to their communities, fostering a deeper grasp of budgetary matters among local stakeholders.
