In a significant operation, the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) of the DCI headquarters has arrested two high-profile drug traffickers in Dohnholm, Nairobi.

The suspects, Teresia Nduku, a Kenyan, and Simba Kitwana Khamri, a Tanzanian, were apprehended following a meticulously planned raid.

The arrests led investigators to a residence in Manyanzani, Tala Kangundo Sub-County. There, authorities conducted a detailed search and discovered a backpack with a hidden compartment containing cannabis sativa.

The seizure also included a digital scale and several incriminating documents.

The seized cannabis sativa is a rare variety, reportedly originating from abroad and smuggled into Kenya through the Namanga border. The Tanzanian suspect, an expert in drug packaging, was found to be responsible for concealing the substance in backpacks for global distribution.

Preliminary intelligence estimates place the street value of a gram of this specific cannabis sativa at Ksh. 8,000. Further testing will determine its unique characteristics and potential impact.

Both suspects are currently in custody and will soon face legal proceedings as authorities continue to unravel the full extent of their operation.
