Mr. Ambrose Tarus, Chief Officer of Administration and Devolved Units, convened a meeting on Wednesday with Sub-County and Ward Administrators to address strategies for improving service delivery at the grassroots level.

The meeting focused on key development projects, ongoing project assessments, and the importance of capacity building within local administrative structures. Mr. Tarus underscored the necessity of rigorous oversight and accountability, particularly regarding the progress of major projects and the verification of Bills of Quantities (BQs) to ensure optimal resource utilization.

“Empowering our officers through training is essential for improving administrative efficiency and ensuring that services are delivered effectively to the community,” Mr. Tarus stated. He emphasized that providing training opportunities for administrative officers is crucial for enhancing their management skills.

The Chief Officer highlighted the pivotal role of Village Administrators in facilitating smooth service delivery. He encouraged the establishment of open communication channels and the engagement of all relevant stakeholders to better meet community needs. “Public involvement is vital in service delivery. I urge administrators to foster open communication and follow proper procedures,” he added.

Mr. Tarus also addressed the need for improved coordination among local administrators to handle protocol matters efficiently, which is essential for avoiding delays in service delivery. He reaffirmed his commitment to aligning administrative efforts with the broader goals of public service and development, as outlined in Governor Jonathan Bii’s Nguzo Kumi Manifesto.

The meeting was attended by key officials, including Directors Samwel Kiptoo (Administration), Dr. Shadrack Morogo (Public Participation and Civic Education), and Deputy Directors Florence Lagat (Administration) and Kiptanui Barno.

This initiative marks a significant step towards enhancing service delivery and ensuring that the needs of the community are effectively met.
