Ruweida Throws Weight Behind NG-CDF
Members of the National Assembly Wednesday afternoon debated at length the need and urgency for the entrenchment of the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) into the Constitution, to safeguard the future of the kitty which has been a critical foundation for development and transformation of livelihoods across the Country.
This debate, was sparked by the Judgement of the High Court on Friday declaring NG-CDF Act of 2015 unconstitutional. One of the Members of Parliament who made a contribution is Lamu East Mp Hon Ruweida Mohammed Obbo who noted:
“The NG-CDF fund is phenomenal and a catalyst of development where each constituency allocates the money as stipulated in law, and the structure of the fund is one to be emulated because it holds the highest parameters of transparency and accountability. If the NG-CDF is abolished, majority of the Constituencies will suffer and lag behind development-wise,” Hon. Ruweida observed
