Kenya Airways Experiences Service Disruptions Due to Maintenance and Supply Chain Issues
Kenya Airways is currently facing disruptions in its flight services, primarily due to scheduled maintenance and unforeseen supply chain constraints. In a statement released on Thursday, CEO Allan Kilavuka outlined that delays have been exacerbated by an unscheduled engine overhaul and the ground ingredients of two 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
The issues arose from extended maintenance of fuel hydrants at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, resulting in delays for several morning flight departures. However, Kenya Airways reports that the situation has since normalized, with most flights having resumed.
Kilavuka expressed gratitude for customers’ understanding and patience, assuring them that dedicated teams are working diligently to recover the airline’s schedule by midday.
“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and assure you that we are doing our best to minimize the disruption,” Kilavuka stated. “Our commitment to providing excellent service remains unwavering, and we thank you for your continued support.”
The Kenya Airways Authority is actively addressing these challenges to restore normal operations as quickly as possible.
