On October 5th, as the world celebrates International Teachers Day, Dr. Ekrah Ndung’u, Chairperson of the Kenya National Association of Private Colleges (KENAPCO), took a moment to acknowledge the invaluable contributions of teachers in shaping the future of society.

World Teachers Day is an annual celebration dedicated to recognizing the critical role teachers play in education and community development. Dr. Ndung’u emphasized that teachers do more than impart knowledge; they inspire confidence, nurture life skills, and motivate students to pursue their dreams.

In her heartfelt message, Dr. Ndung’u remarked, “It’s World Teachers Day 2024. It’s a day of honoring teachers for their great sacrifices to make the world a better place. Today is the day to celebrate their immense contributions to our societies. As one scholar once said, ‘every great mind was once taught by some brilliant teachers.’”

She expressed gratitude for the dedication and passion that teachers exhibit in their work, noting that teaching is not merely a profession, but a labor of love. “From the bottom of my heart, and on behalf of KENAPCO, I wish all the teachers well on this International Teachers Day. Teachers are required to nurture the potential in learners even when faced with daunting challenges,” she added.

Dr. Ndung’u’s message serves as a reminder of the essential role educators play in fostering future generations and encourages society to celebrate and support teachers for their relentless efforts and commitment.
