On October 10, in honor of Mazingira Day, Dr. Hezekiah Kariuki, Managing Director and CEO of Together As One Microfinance, urged Kenyans to prioritize environmental conservation. Recognized as one of East Africa’s most credible and customer-friendly lenders, the organization is committed to promoting sustainability.

Dr. Kariuki emphasized the urgent need to protect the environment from harmful practices that threaten biodiversity. He called on every Kenyan to plant and nurture at least ten trees, aligning this initiative with the significance of the date.

As the world grapples with the realities of climate change, Dr. Kariuki highlighted the alarming effects already visible in Kenya, including rising temperatures, erratic weather patterns, and recent flash floods that have caused significant devastation.

“The time to act is now,” Dr. Kariuki stated. “Climate change is no longer a distant threat; it is affecting our communities today. By taking simple actions like planting trees, we can contribute to a healthier planet.”

Together As One Microfinance remains dedicated to environmental stewardship, encouraging all citizens to join in the fight against climate change and to foster a sustainable future for generations to come.
