Meeting of Nairobi Region Police Commanders: DIG Eliud Lagat Emphasizes Security and Professionalism

Deputy Inspector General of the Kenya Police Service, Mr. Eliud Lagat, convened a crucial meeting with Nairobi Region Police Commanders at the Police Pavilion in South C. The gathering focused on addressing the unique policing challenges in the capital and enhancing security strategies.

In his address to the press, DIG Lagat underscored the importance of securing Nairobi as a foundation for economic and social development in Kenya. He highlighted recent violent attacks in Tana River County, assuring the public that security operations there have been intensified to restore order and safety.

Lagat commended the officers for their unwavering dedication to maintaining security in the city, encouraging them to uphold professionalism and foster teamwork through a multi-agency approach, especially given the constraints of limited resources. He stressed the importance of discipline, urging Commanders to serve as role models for their juniors to meet the Kenya Police Service’s objectives of improved public service delivery.

The meeting was attended by key officials, including Mr. Peter Ndung’u, Director of Logistics, Dr. Resila Onyango, NPS Spokesperson, and Mr. Adamson Bungei, Regional Police Commander. Together, they discussed strategies to enhance policing efforts in Nairobi and ensure a safer environment for all residents.
