Kirinyaga County Assembly Speaker Advocates for Vocational Training Development
Kirinyaga County Assembly Speaker, the Honourable Muteti Murimi, recently met with parents, board members, and teachers of Kibingoti Vocational Training Centre to discuss the institution’s progress and future initiatives. Accompanied by Kiine Ward MCA Hon. Geoffrey Murimi Gakuru and Hon. Milker Thoithi, the meeting aimed to strengthen partnerships between the vocational centre, the county government, and the private sector.
Speaker Murimi emphasized the crucial role that Kibingoti Vocational Training Centre plays in equipping the youth with essential skills to contribute to the nation’s economic growth. He outlined plans to enhance the institution’s offerings, including the introduction of new courses such as Information and Communication Technology (ICT), the acquisition of modern training equipment, and the recruitment of qualified teaching staff.
Additionally, Murimi highlighted the need for infrastructure expansion and the strategic implementation of policies to optimize the operations of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions. The discussions underscored a collaborative approach to ensure Kibingoti Vocational Training Centre can reach its full potential, ultimately benefiting the youth and the broader community.
