New Dagoretti Law Courts Opened to Enhance Access to Justice
In a significant development for the Kenyan legal landscape, the new Dagoretti Law Courts were officially opened, marking a vital step towards improving access to justice in the region. The event was attended by prominent figures, including the Chief Justice of Kenya, Martha K. Koome, and various stakeholders from the justice sector.
Her Excellency Faith Odhiambo, President of the Law Society of Kenya, expressed her enthusiasm for the opening, highlighting the growing demand for court services driven by the country’s expanding population and evolving socio-political dynamics. “The growth of our population, economy, and the dynamic socio-political context in our country all increase the demand for accessibility of court services,” she stated.
Odhiambo emphasized that bolstering infrastructure and human resources is essential for ensuring adequate access to justice for all Kenyans. She commended the Judiciary for its ongoing efforts to address these challenges, underscoring the importance of such initiatives in fostering a fair and efficient legal system.
The opening of the Dagoretti Law Courts is expected to alleviate congestion in existing courts and improve the delivery of justice in the area. With a focus on enhancing legal services, the courts aim to provide a more accessible and responsive judicial experience for the community.
As the country continues to evolve, the establishment of additional judicial facilities remains a crucial priority for ensuring that all citizens have equal access to justice.
