Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo Out for Weeks with Muscle Injury
Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo will be sidelined for several weeks due to a muscle injury sustained in the recent match against Aston Villa. The club confirmed the news on Thursday, coinciding with Mainoo’s absence from England’s Nations League fixtures against Greece and Finland.
Mainoo is not the only player facing fitness challenges; teammate Harry Maguire is also out with an injury. This season has been particularly tough for United, who currently sit 14th in the Premier League with just eight points from their first seven matches. The injury woes extend to several other key players, including Tyrell Malacia, Luke Shaw, and Mason Mount, further testing the squad’s depth.
In a slight boost for the team, Amad Diallo and Alejandro Garnacho, both of whom missed international duty due to injury and illness respectively, have returned to training ahead of Saturday’s crucial home match against Brentford. Additionally, Morocco’s Noussair Mazraoui has resumed training after being substituted at halftime against Villa due to illness.
Manager Erik ten Hag is under increasing pressure to turn the team’s fortunes around as they prepare for upcoming fixtures, including a Europa League clash against Fenerbahce next week. The absence of key players like Mainoo and Maguire will challenge the squad’s resilience as they seek a much-needed victory.
