National Assembly Approves Prof. Kithure Kindiki as Deputy President
In a unanimous decision, the National Assembly has approved the nomination of Prof. Kithure Kindiki as the new Deputy President of the country. The vote, which saw a majority of 236 Members of Parliament in support, marks a significant moment in the nation’s leadership transition, with no legislators opposing the nomination.
Following this approval, President William Ruto is now set to officially appoint Prof. Kindiki to the deputy presidency. Once sworn in, Kindiki will take over the responsibilities as the second-in-command, succeeding former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who was recently impeached.
Prof. Kindiki, a well-respected figure in academia and politics, has promised to uphold the values of leadership and service as he steps into this pivotal role. The decision has been welcomed by various political leaders and citizens alike, who view it as a move towards stability and progress in the government.
As the nation prepares for this new chapter, all eyes will be on Kindiki to see how he navigates the challenges ahead and supports President Ruto’s administration in its agenda for the country.
