Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested three individuals in connection with a major electronics theft valued at Ksh 3.16 million. The suspects, Lenah Khamatuili, Ian Kevaya, and Peninah Mutola, were apprehended at a hideout in Kawangware following an extensive investigation.

The incident took place on September 23, when a South Sudanese national returned to her home on Rahpta Road in Westlands to find her residence ransacked. Among the stolen items were cash totaling USD 24,500, an iPhone 15, a Samsung Z Flip, and various pieces of jewelry. The victim promptly reported the burglary to DCI Kulimani offices.

During the investigation, authorities uncovered a significant cache of additional stolen goods in the suspects’ possession. This included a boxer motorcycle, a 55-inch television, a Henmac microwave, an HP laptop, an NNIX cooker oven, a 6kg pro gas cylinder, a five-seater sofa, a mattress, two watches, and three brand-new Samsung A50 phones.

Further probing led to the discovery of a land purchase agreement for a parcel in Kaplan, valued at Ksh 423,000, raising suspicions about the suspects’ intentions. The three remain in police custody and are set to face charges related to the theft as investigations continue.
