In a significant development, President William Ruto’s administration has reinstated part of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s security details, following concerns about his safety after the withdrawal of protection measures. This move comes in the wake of Gachagua’s claims that the president’s actions had exposed him to potential danger.

During a church service at St. James A.C.K. Cathedral in Kiambu Town on Sunday, October 27, Gachagua appeared with enhanced security, reflecting a shift in the government’s stance. Kiambu Senator Karungu Thang’wa, a close ally of Gachagua, confirmed the restoration of his security and called for the reinstatement of Gachagua’s staff as well, emphasizing the need for justice to be visibly upheld.

“The state has reinstated part of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s security details. In the same spirit, I urge the government to make the next honorable stop and reinstate his employees as well. Justice must not only be done but must also be seen to be done,” Thang’wa tweeted.

This latest development raises questions about the political dynamics within Ruto’s administration, especially regarding the future roles of Gachagua and Interior Cabinet Secretary Prof. Kithure Kindiki. As Kenyans watch closely, the next steps could significantly impact the political landscape, with many speculating whether Gachagua will reclaim his former stature or if Kindiki will emerge as the next leader to rally public hope.

The reinstatement of Gachagua’s security details signals an effort to stabilize his position amid ongoing controversies, leaving the political community and the public eager to see how these developments unfold.
