Governor Mwangaza Expresses Joy Over Kithure Kindiki’s Appointment as Deputy President
Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza expressed her excitement following the swearing-in of Kithure Kindiki as the new Deputy President of Kenya. Speaking at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), Mwangaza conveyed her heartfelt congratulations and support for Kindiki, who she described as a son of Meru.
“I am so happy today that we have a new deputy president of the Republic of Kenya. The larger part of Meru is so happy and we thank God for it,” Mwangaza stated. She emphasized that Kindiki’s leadership, combined with President William Ruto’s guidance, would help foster unity across the country.
Mwangaza praised Ruto’s decision to appoint Kindiki, highlighting the enthusiasm among her constituents. “It is marvellous in our eyes. Kindiki is our son, and we know that through his leadership and our president’s leadership, the entire country will be united,” she added.
Her remarks also suggested a sense of relief regarding the departure of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, although Mwangaza’s own political challenges, including recent impeachment battles, remain to be fully resolved.
The event marks a significant moment in Kenya’s political landscape, with Mwangaza’s support signaling potential for regional solidarity under Kindiki’s new leadership role.
