Law Society of Kenya Concludes Legal Awareness Week with a Celebratory Dinner
The President of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK), Faith Odhiambo, marked the successful conclusion of the LSK Legal Awareness Week with a commemorative dinner held last night. The event provided a moment for reflection and forward-looking discussions on the role of the LSK in promoting legal awareness and social justice across the country.
Odhiambo expressed gratitude for the active participation throughout the week, with members taking the opportunity to inquire and seek legal support from LSK’s teams. She also acknowledged the crucial role of the society’s partners and stakeholders, whose support was instrumental in the success of this year’s edition.
“Legal practitioners have a unique duty to serve the community, and we are proud to recognize the selfless efforts of our members who are at the forefront of giving back through service,” Odhiambo said. She emphasized the importance of continuing to stand up for the most vulnerable in society, highlighting that this is the core mission of the LSK.
The evening also featured a special recognition ceremony, where members who demonstrated outstanding commitment to community service were honored for their contributions. This recognition aligns with the core values of the legal profession, which calls on practitioners to not only advocate for justice in the courtroom but also extend their expertise to assist those in need.
The dinner was graced by the chief guest, Irũngũ Houghton, who received special appreciation from Odhiambo for his support and participation in the event.
The Legal Awareness Week, which ran over several days, focused on enhancing the public’s understanding of legal rights and fostering partnerships between legal professionals and the broader community. As the event closed, the LSK President urged members to continue their advocacy efforts and uphold the duty of serving society with integrity and dedication.
