Motorcyclist Killed in Head-On Collision with Truck in Narok County
A tragic accident early this morning in Narok County claimed the life of an unidentified motorbike rider. The incident occurred at approximately 3:00 a.m. in the Empopongi neighborhood, located about 8 kilometers east of the Narok central sub-county police station.
According to police reports, the motorbike, a Sonlink model, was involved in a head-on collision with an Isuzu FRR truck. The truck, driven by 54-year-old Wycliffe Anjere, was traveling from Maai Mahiu to Narok at the time of the accident. The motorcyclist, described as an African male in his 30s, was reportedly riding in the opposite direction when he lost control and collided with the truck, leading to his instantaneous death.
The truck driver, Anjere, was unharmed in the crash. The body of the deceased has been transported to Narok Level 5 Hospital, where it will undergo a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death and assist with identification.
Both vehicles have been impounded at the Narok Traffic Base for further inspection as authorities continue to investigate the cause of the accident.
The police are calling on anyone who may have information regarding the motorcyclist’s identity to come forward.
