“Hon. Kapkea has demonstrated exceptional skills and a wealth of knowledge, and I am confident he will make a meaningful impact on our development agenda,” Governor Bii said. “He will be integral in helping us realize our ‘Nguzo Kumi’ blueprint.”

The “Nguzo Kumi” blueprint is a comprehensive 10-point development plan that focuses on key sectors including agriculture, education, health, infrastructure, and youth empowerment. Governor Bii emphasized that Kapkea’s leadership would be essential in ensuring these objectives are met.

In his acceptance speech, Deputy Governor Kapkea expressed gratitude to the people of Uasin Gishu for entrusting him with the new role. He promised to serve the county with commitment, integrity, and a focus on the successful implementation of the Governor’s development agenda.

“I am honored to serve the people of Uasin Gishu, and I will work closely with Governor Bii to ensure the ‘Nguzo Kumi’ blueprint is realized for the benefit of all residents,” Kapkea said. “Together, we will uplift the lives of our people and drive the county’s growth forward.”

Kapkea brings a wealth of experience to the deputy governor’s office. He previously served as a Member of the County Assembly for Tembelio Ward, where he chaired the Trade, Industrialization, Tourism, and Investment Committee and was involved in several key legislative areas, including Budget and Finance, Health, and Delegated Legislation.

An alumnus of the University of Eldoret, Kapkea holds a Bachelor of Science in Analytical Chemistry and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in the same field at Moi University.

Governor Bii also took the opportunity to acknowledge the contributions of former Deputy Governor Barorot, whose leadership and work in advancing key county projects helped lay the groundwork for the new administration’s ambitions.

With the swearing-in of Hon. Kapkea, Uasin Gishu County enters a new era of leadership, with both the county’s residents and leaders hopeful for continued development and prosperity under the guidance of Governor Bii’s leadership.
