The event has garnered attention as it highlights the role of the mining industry in national development and serves as a platform to engage investors, policymakers, and other stakeholders in discussions aimed at driving sustainable growth within the sector.

In his remarks, Principal Secretary Elijah Mwangi emphasized the government’s commitment to working with partners to accelerate reforms in the sector. “We are entering a new era of transformative changes in the mining sector, ensuring that investments find a welcoming environment in Kenya and that the communities directly impacted by mining activities are able to reap the benefits,” Mwangi said.

The opening of the conference underscores a growing public awareness of the vital role that mining plays in Kenya’s economic advancement. The sector’s potential to contribute to job creation, infrastructure development, and foreign investment continues to attract attention, both locally and internationally.

As the conference unfolds, it is expected to foster new partnerships, encourage investments, and set the stage for further reforms that will improve mining practices, attract global investors, and ensure that Kenya’s natural resources are managed responsibly for the benefit of all citizens.

The event serves as a testament to Kenya’s ambition to establish itself as a key player in the global mining industry while ensuring the long-term sustainability and benefit of its mineral wealth.
