Earlier today, I had the privilege of attending a crucial Cabinet Committee meeting on Finance, Infrastructure, Land, and Production Economy, chaired by His Excellency, Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki, at his Karen residence.

The meeting brought together key stakeholders to deliberate on matters central to Kenya’s economic growth and development. Topics of discussion included enhancing infrastructure, advancing land reforms, and implementing strategies aimed at improving the national production economy. It was evident that this gathering aimed to accelerate the realization of Kenya’s development agenda, focusing on sustainable economic growth that will benefit all sectors of society.

As the Cabinet Secretary for Tourism, I particularly emphasized the importance of integrating tourism with national infrastructure development, to boost the sector’s potential as a key driver of Kenya’s economic recovery. Tourism plays a vital role in job creation, poverty alleviation, and foreign exchange earnings, making it a critical pillar in the government’s economic plan.

The session highlighted the need for cross-sector collaboration to achieve the desired outcomes, with a strong commitment to prioritizing projects that will positively impact all Kenyans, especially those in rural areas. We also discussed how to leverage technological advancements and innovation to optimize resource use and ensure sustainable development.

The meeting ended on a positive note, with all members reaffirming their commitment to driving forward the policies that will shape Kenya’s future prosperity.

We look forward to continued collaboration within the Cabinet to ensure that our national goals are met efficiently, transparently, and in a manner that brings about lasting socio-economic benefits for our nation.
