PS Kello Harsama Honored with the Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear (CBS) on Jamhuri Day

In a moment of national recognition, Principal Secretary Kello Harsama, CBS, was awarded the prestigious title of *Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear (CBS)* on Jamhuri Day for his exceptional service to the public. The honor was bestowed upon him by President Dr. William Ruto during the annual national celebrations, marking a significant milestone in his distinguished career in public service.

In his acceptance message, PS Kello expressed his deep gratitude, acknowledging the importance of the recognition. He said, “I am highly elated that I have been conferred with ‘The First Class: Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear (CBS)’ award by the President of Kenya, HE Dr. William Ruto, in this year’s Jamhuri Day Awards and Honours. I am grateful for this recognition and honour. It has always been my mission to do my best in any role given to me to serve my nation. I do not take this for granted. I will continue to do whatever it takes to make Kenya a better country. I am grateful to all those who have supported me through this process. God bless Kenya.”

PS Kello Harsama’s career spans decades of service in various capacities, displaying exceptional leadership and dedication. With a Master’s Degree in Public Administration & Policy from Tsinghua University in China and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Moi University, Kenya, Harsama’s academic credentials are complemented by his extensive experience in public administration.

He has held key administrative positions across multiple regions in Kenya, including serving as District Officer in Meru, Makueni, Narok, Laikipia, Uasin Gishu, West Pokot, and Baringo, as well as District Commissioner in Kajiado and Loitoktok. His leadership journey continued as County Commissioner in Kajiado, before moving to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, where he served as Director General of the Agriculture and Food Authority (AFA) and later as Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture.

Harsama’s expertise extends to areas such as project planning, financial management, and strategic leadership. His training in Advanced Public Administration and Corporate Governance for Senior Officers, alongside Para-Military Training at APTC, further highlights his readiness to handle complex administrative challenges.

Beyond his technical skills, Kello Harsama is known for his collaborative nature and commitment to Kenya’s development. His passion is to contribute to a prosperous and hunger-free nation, where citizens enjoy a high quality of life.
