DP Kithure Kindiki Holds Consultative Meeting with Governor Bii and MCAs
In a move aimed at enhancing the delivery of development initiatives across Kenya, Deputy President Kithure Kindiki today hosted Uasin Gishu County Governor Jonathan Bii and Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) at his official residence in Karen, Nairobi. The consultative forum was focused on fostering greater collaboration between the National Government and County Governments to ensure that government policies, programmes, and projects are effectively implemented at the grassroots level.
During the meeting, Deputy President Kindiki emphasized the importance of seamless coordination between all levels of government, particularly in identifying development priorities and avoiding duplication of efforts. He highlighted that regular consultations are critical for ensuring that both national and local priorities align, thus speeding up service delivery to the people of Kenya.
“We must work together to ensure that the policies we implement have a direct impact on the lives of our people. Regular and open dialogue between the National and County Governments is key to harmonizing our efforts and achieving our development goals,” said Kindiki.
Governor Jonathan Bii expressed his commitment to working closely with the National Government, noting that Uasin Gishu County stands ready to collaborate on key development projects aimed at improving infrastructure, healthcare, education, and job creation. The Governor also acknowledged the need for enhanced communication between the county leadership and the national administration to ensure that local needs are accurately represented and addressed.
“We are ready to partner with the National Government to create a conducive environment for sustainable development in Uasin Gishu. Through constant dialogue, we can ensure that our people benefit from well-coordinated, impactful government initiatives,” Governor Bii remarked.
The meeting also saw constructive discussions on strategies to overcome challenges related to resource allocation and capacity building at the county level. MCAs present at the forum reiterated the importance of ensuring that county budgets are effectively aligned with the National Government’s development agenda.
