In a heartwarming gesture of goodwill, the Kenya Union of Special Needs Teachers (KUSNET) Secretary General, James Torome, along with union members, has donated foodstuffs and tree seedlings to the AIC Siyampei Children’s Home in Narok County, in time for the upcoming Christmas celebrations. The donation is part of KUSNET’s annual charitable initiative aimed at supporting vulnerable children and promoting environmental sustainability.

The foodstuffs, which included a variety of non-perishable items such as rice, maize flour, cooking oil, and beans, were given to ensure the children at the home have enough to enjoy during the festive season. Additionally, the union donated tree seedlings, encouraging the children and staff to plant and care for the trees as part of an environmental awareness program.

James Torome, who led the donation drive, expressed his commitment to supporting vulnerable communities, especially during the festive season. “Christmas is a time of giving, and we want to ensure that the children at AIC Siyampei Children’s Home have a memorable holiday filled with warmth and joy. Through this donation, we also aim to contribute to environmental conservation by encouraging tree planting,” Torome said.

The AIC Siyampei Children’s Home, which cares for children from various backgrounds, expressed its gratitude for the timely donation. The home’s staff noted that the foodstuffs would greatly ease the burden of providing for the children during the holidays, while the tree seedlings would help in fostering a sense of responsibility and environmental stewardship among the children.

“We are deeply grateful to KUSNET and its members for this generous donation. It is heartening to see the union’s commitment to not only supporting the welfare of children but also promoting the environment. These contributions will go a long way in ensuring the children have a happy and sustainable Christmas,” said the Home’s director.

This donation by KUSNET highlights the union’s continued efforts to contribute to community welfare, particularly in areas such as education, environmental conservation, and the well-being of vulnerable children. It serves as a reminder of the importance of solidarity and giving back, especially during the festive season.

As Christmas approaches, KUSNET’s gesture serves as an inspiring example of how individuals and organizations can come together to make a positive impact on society.
