In a significant step towards improving service delivery and accountability, the Principal Secretary for the State Department for Social Protection and Senior Citizen Affairs, Mr. Joseph M. Motari CBS, and the Principal Secretary for the State Department for Labour and Skills Development, Mr. Meshack Mwadime CBS, today signed the performance contracts for FY 2024/2025 with State Corporations. The ceremony took place at the NSSF Building and was presided over by Cabinet Secretary Dr. Alfred Mutua, EGH.

The performance contracts, which outline key deliverables and targets for each state corporation, aim to drive efficiency in service delivery, ensure the effective use of public resources, and foster accountability. Among the key aspects of the contracts are clear objectives, measurable performance indicators, and a commitment to continuous improvement across all entities.

Speaking at the event, Cabinet Secretary Dr. Alfred Mutua emphasized the importance of the contracts in realizing the Ministry’s broader vision. He highlighted that the contracts will provide a roadmap for the Ministry and its affiliated state corporations to deliver on their mandate of fostering a just and equitable society. Dr. Mutua stressed that the Ministry’s goal is to ensure that all citizens have access to decent work and robust social protection.

“The performance contracts are not just a tool for monitoring and evaluation; they are a blueprint for achieving transformational change in the Ministry and across our state corporations,” Dr. Mutua said. “We are committed to working together to create a society where social protection and decent work opportunities are available to all.”

The signing of these contracts marks a crucial step in the government’s ongoing efforts to enhance the efficiency of public service delivery and ensure that all state corporations under the Ministry’s jurisdiction operate at optimal levels.
