Access to Timely and Effective Service Delivery is Key in the Health Sector

Governor Jonathan Bii has affirmed his commitment to ensuring that residents access and benefit from timely and effective service delivery in the health sector reiterating an already existing road map that aims at addressing a myriad of challenges in the sector.

Speaking in his office when he hosted officials from New Partnerships for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) and Moi University, Governor Bii noted that they co-relate with the training institutions to capacity build the staff with more knowledge saying that the partnership was beneficial because the skills have been extended to other health facilities.

“We want to be more involved in the grounds and we call upon NEPAD to continue partnering with us in enhancing our health systems because we want to make West Maternity a center of excellence in maternal health,” said Bii.

Promotive and Preventive Health Chief Officer Mrs. Joyce Sang said that they have established a plan to conduct outreaches in all the facilities informing the residents on the activities undertaken and the importance of owning it.

On her part, NEPAD Director of Programs Dr. Rose Kitur noted that they are through with the evaluation of the training in 2020 where midwives drawn from sub-County hospitals benefitted from the exercise.
