Apostle Dr. Bishop Kieru Welcomes Alignment of Religious Institutions
The Apostolic Bishop of Kenya Assemblies of God Nyahururu District Dr. Bishop Simon Kieru has welcomed a raft of measures recommended by the Taskforce Working Party that was mandated to unravel the mystery, circumstances and quagmire that saw hundreds of people, including childreb starved to death at the Shakahola horrific scene.
The Bishop noted:
This is both timely and necessary after seeing doomsday cults taking over the religious space. However, there have been various failed attempts to regulate churches and mosques by the likes of former AG Githu Muigai and former Kangema MP Muturi Kigano.
Basically, while it is an undeniable fact that all is not well in our religious space, it is also not true that all the apples have gone sour. Therefore, let’s involve all stakeholders in proposing the changes to arrive at balanced proposals that will give Kenyans freedom of worship while also protecting them from being exploited by some men of the cloth.
