Athletics Kenya’s Trans Nzoia Branch Pays Courtesy Call Waziri Chanelle Kittonyi
Athletics Kenya’s Trans Nzoia branch team visited Waziri Chanelle Kittonyi at her office and shared their calendar of events for December to June 2023.
The county chairperson Mr. Andrew Rotich and secretary Evans Rono congratulated Governor Natembeya for appointing a young CEC who is also dedicated to seeing the revival of sports in the county.
In addition, they asked Waziri Chanelle to be firm when implementing manifestos made by Governor George Natembeya.
The AK secretary, Mr. Rono, presented the AK’s fixture of events, the latest of which will be the county cross country on December 10th at the Kitale showgrounds.
In preparation for the upcoming 10,000m race, Rono asked all sub-counties to prepare their teams.
Samburu county will host the North Rift cross-country event on 7th January. A request was made to the department to financially support the county’s athletic team.
The AK Trans Nzoia county has formed an excellent structure and organization that has led to the maturing of good athletes across the county. Waziri Chanelle praised these efforts saying lack of training grounds in the county has led many runners to abandon the county, she said.
She promised to streamline funds sourcing at the department adding that the move will help facilitate teams from the county.
The CEC said the new Trans Nzoia administration will fully participate in the development of sports in the county.
