In a press statement issued today, the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition voiced deep concern over multiple crises plaguing the nation under what they termed a “disastrous” Kenya Kwanza regime.

Raging Floods:
Expressing solidarity with affected communities, Azimio highlighted the devastating impact of recent floods, which have claimed over 238 lives, displaced 300,000 households, and wreaked havoc on infrastructure and livelihoods nationwide. Criticizing the government’s response as inadequate, the coalition demanded increased financial support and proactive disaster management strategies to mitigate further casualties.

Doctors’ Strike:
The coalition condemned the two-month doctors’ strike, citing governmental failure to address healthcare concerns promptly. Urging swift resolution, Azimio called upon the regime to heed the Labour and Relations court’s order and reach an agreement within 48 hours to restore normalcy in public hospitals.

General Ogolla’s Tragic Death:
Azimio demanded a transparent investigation into the helicopter crash that claimed the life of Chief of Defence Forces General Francis Omondi Ogolla and nine other officers. Criticizing the government’s response as insufficient, the coalition called for the establishment of a Parliamentary Select Committee to probe the incident and address suspicions of political involvement.

Fake Fertilizer Scam:
The coalition applauded parliament’s move to impeach the Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock Development amid a fake fertilizer scandal. Azimio accused the ousted CS of economic sabotage and urged parliamentarians to scrutinize upcoming financial legislation to prevent further harm to ordinary citizens.

In a scathing conclusion, Azimio branded the Kenya Kwanza regime as “disastrous” and called for its impeachment. The coalition’s statement underscored a growing sense of discontent with the government’s handling of crises, signaling potential challenges ahead for the ruling party.
