Former Uasin Gishu Councilor Barnabas Chemase

Former Uasin Gishu Councilor Barnabas Chemase has passed on.

Before his death, he was the chairman of the people living with a disability.

Speaking after visiting the family of the deceased Uasin Gishu gubernatorial aspirant Vesca Kangogo who described Chemase as a hardworking and straightforward politician.

“We are saddened by the demise of former councilor Tembelio ward, Mzee Barnabas Chemase of Soin village. His energy and lifelong dedication to improving the lives and livelihood of people will continue to inspire generations of young people,” said the Uasin Gishu gubernatorial aspirant after visiting the family of the deceased.

Chemase vied for the Tembelio MCA seat in 2013 but was defeated by the incumbent Pius Kigen who is serving his second term in office.

“On behalf of myself and the people of Uasin Gishu I wish to send my message of condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, may God give you strength during this hard time of mourning,” she added.

Uasin Gishu leader of minority Josphat Lowoi described the deceased as a man of the people who were ready to help the new MCA’s.

“On behalf of the County Assembly of Uasin Gishu we want to send our message of condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, may God give you strength during this time of mourning. We are together during this hard time of mourning,” said the Uasin Gishu County leader of the majority while mourning the deceased.

The burial date for the deceased has not yet been set.
