The parliamentary race for Webuye west constituency has gained momentum after a renown Environmentalist declared to vie for the seat come 2027 general election.
Damiano Waswa said he will run for the seat and has already mounted humanitarian activities in the constituency.
He is making his first stab in active politics.However,the aspirant remained elusive to declare his political party of interest he will use to run for the seat.
Waswa who resides from Sitikho ward, says he will be a potential catalyst for positive change.
Political pundits from various factions in the constituency are actively promoting his candidature, propping him as a figurehead in constituency politics and servant leadership.
The overwhelming support for Damiano Waswa is due to programs he has initiated across the constituency like; sports tournaments and educational support to learners from low-income households.
When elected as the Mp for Webuye west,Mr.Waswa says he will priotize equity in bursary distribution and lobby for youth n women interests.
Political observers aver that his financial capabilities to spearhead a robust parliamentary campaign are of no doubt, and his humanitarian efforts in the constituency have rattled the opponent’s camp, making it clear that the upcoming election will be on solid agendas and a proven track record.
He will face with other opponents including businessman Kelly Walubengo,Incumbent Dan Wanyama,Matulo ward Mca Steve Kaiser,Business mogul Joseph Henrix Waswa among other candidates.
