The recent decision by umbrella bodies of religious institutions to embrace self-regulation has been met with optimism and support from the clergy. Among those expressing their approval is Legendary Bishop Pius Muiru, founder and Bishop of Maximum Miracle Centre who hailed the move as a progressive step toward safeguarding the sanctity of worship.

Speaking on the matter, Bishop Pius Muiru emphasized the importance of self-regulation as a means of upholding freedom of worship while maintaining accountability within religious institutions.

“This is the way to go. Self-regulation not only protects freedom of worship but also ensures that we, as spiritual leaders, remain accountable to our faith communities and the broader society,” observed Bishop Muiru.

The sentiment echoes the broader call for collaboration and dialogue among religious leaders to establish clear guidelines that promote ethical practices while respecting the autonomy of places of worship. This approach, many believe, will strengthen trust and foster unity among religious institutions in Kenya.
