Bishop Simwa Calls For Unity as Kenyans Ushers Inn New Year
The Chairman of Eldoret Gospel Ministers Association, Bishop Peter Simwa has urged citizens to maintain peace and unity as the world is in the verge of ushering new year 2023.
Speaking to the press at High Vision Centre, Simwa was grateful for God’s protection and guidance in overcoming COVID-19 pandemic, holding the most peaceful election in Kenya’s historical political regime, overcoming harsh economic constraints in the just concluded year 2022.
“It’s high time Kenyans accept elections and focus on building the nation rather than dwindling on creation of enmity due to political difference among parties and communities.”said Simwa.
However, Simwa applauded the church for standing firm in prayers and ensuring peaceful August elections in the country.
Simwa said that Kenyans are hopeful that the new government will ensure food security, create more job opportunities to raise living standards of citizens, subsidize maize prices, reduce price of unga and revive the economy of the country in new year.
“The country is hoping to get more opportunities in business, get more loans from the government and receive approximately Ksh. 10,000 on Hustler Fund project to boost their businesses.” said Simwa
Furthermore, Simwa advised maize farmers to take advantage of the availability of market in February and sell their produce and increase the availability of food in the country.
He urged security officers to maintain peace and order at all residential places and enforce measures to ensure safety of all people in the country.
Besides, he encouraged citizens to practice humanitarian act of feeding the poor through sharing as the world is celebrating festive season this holiday.
“Sharing is caring and therefore you should create smiles on other people’s face through given them food and helping them especially as people are merrymaking and celebrating across the country.” said Simwa
