Borderlands Trading Center Physical Development Planning Underway

County Executive Committee Member for the Department of Lands, Physical planning, Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Janeth Kosgei has reaffirmed that all Land Use and Physical Planning Development (LPDPs) plans will be approved for onward use by the various beneficiary trading centres in Uasin Gishu.

Under the Food Agriculture Organisation (FAO) Pogramme, Borderlands trading centre in Kapseret Sub County with a total of 48 acres, is a beneficiary of the programme where the preparation of its LPDP is underway in progress.

“LPDPs are beneficial to the fast growing trading centres and sets the foundation for control in Physical development of the trading centres while ensuring that they are revamped economically,” noted Dr. Kosgei

According to Director Lands Ms. Nelly Jerotich, planners are on the ground collecting data for draft plan to be drawn and presented to the public for scrutiny and once they have done corrections, it will be used to develop a final development plan and give way for land tenure security to its owners.

“Public Utilities that are set to be included in Borderlands trading centre are:-
Youth Polytechnic, Nursery school, Stadium, community and social recreational Centre, administration, cooperative society , health Centre, police station, 3 churches, open air market, bus park, water supply point, cattle holding ground and a refuse collection point,” said Ms. Jerotich

Planners Eve Muriithi, Cornelius Kibet, John Kilimo, Joyline Maswan and representative of FAO Ms. Joan Jerono were present.
